Hike, canoe or fly-in to one of 12 public rental cabins at Nancy Lake State Recreation Area. This is the perfect destination for a real weekend away from it all. Depending on your energy or skill level, select a cabin you can drive to or one you can only get to by canoe and portage. With over 130 lakes and ponds, it provides a tranquil setting for your adventure. Gather around the campfire and share stories only nature's creatures will overhear. Celebrate a milestone or bring a friend in need of support - this is truly a "getaway" to remember. The rustic cabins are available to rent on a nightly basis through the Alaska State Parks. They are insulated and equipped with wooden bunks, counters and wood-burning stoves. Each cabin has an outdoor fire ring. Rentals range from $35-$50 a night and can be made up to six months in advance. The recreation area is located at Mile 67.3 of the Parks Highway. The community of Willow is just north and has a full range of services. Check out the State Parks website at www.dnr.state.ak.us/parks/cabins/reserv.cfm#list for more information.
