Majestic Valley Lodge is a 7000 square foot handcrafted log structure located in the scenic 3000 foot Tahneeta pass. The lodge sits between two spectacular mountain ranges that are just out your door: the Talkeetna and Chugach mountains. The section of Talkeetna mountains adjacent to the lodge is actually a dall sheep reserve, so it is common to see sheep from the lodge and hike the ridge into the reserve. The massive spruce logs used to construct the lodge were harvested along the Matanuska River and were actually trees that had been attacked by the spruce beetle and would have died and rotted eventually. The large covered porch overlooking the Chugach mountains is a favorite spot for guests to enjoy the sunrise with complimentary coffee or tea. Beer and wine are also available for purchase. An active-private bush airstrip adjacent to the lodge provides and occassional view of an airplane landing or taking off. Flight seeing is available for guests that like to see the splendor and wildlife from a bird's eye view. The lodge building has four guest rooms, but there are also two cabins and an adjacent building: Glacier Hall that has eight guest rooms. Every room and cabin (14 total) has a private bathroom. Our full service kitchen and staff offer creatively prepared meals. We design meals with our guest's tastes and needs in mind. The dinner meal requires advance reservation, but guests may sign up for breakfast upon check-in. Sack lunches are also available. Free wireless and satelite TV are available. Most of our guests take advantage of the numerous hiking trails that leave right from the property. Other hikes are available along the highway close to the lodge. Also, there are guided glacier treks, river rafting, flight seeing, jet boat tours, and a zip line. Staff can help arrange any of the tours for our guests. Sheep, moose, eagles, owls and hawks are commonly spotted from the lodge, but guests have also seen bear, caribou, lynx, and coyote.
