Palmer is the agricultural hub of Alaska, and farmer's markets are a great opportunity to support the local farmers. Here's a list of some of the Mat-Su's local markets.
Palmer Friday Flings: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m., mid-may to mid-August in Downtown Palmer
Talkeetna Open Market: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., Saturdays-Mondays; opens May 23 at the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar
Wasilla's Wednesday Market: 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the Historic Village behind the Dorothy Page Museum. June 4 - mid-September.
