Hatcher Pass

Visitors to the area enjoy a wealth of hiking, mountain biking and year-round multi-use trails. Some favorites include Reed Lakes, Graigle Creek and Gold Mint trails.
Activities include hiking, berry picking and recreational gold panning. As the headwaters of the Little Susitna originate here, kayakers enjoy the challenge of the "Little Su's" Class V whitewater.
Hatcher Pass Winter Recreation
Largely unspoiled, Hatcher Pass is known by locals as a winter recreation Mecca with an extended season and plenty of powder prime for cross country and alpine adventures. Winter sports enthusiasts flock to Government Peak and the Mile 16 Trail to telemark and cross-country ski as well as snowboard and snowshoe.
Other activities include skiing, sledding, dog mushing and skijoring. A Snow cat
operation provides alpine skiing opportunities and snowmobiling is allowed in designated areas and is very popular west of the Pass.
Visit the Alaska Division of Natural Resources and Alaska State Parks for Hatcher Pass Trail information.
