Join the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation and Revel Treks and Tours for our Winter Speaker Series, six presenters throughout the winter. In February, we’ll learn about Ahtna and Dena’ina, languages and traditions.
When: Tuesday, February 18. Doors open at 6:30PM. Presentation begins at 7PM.
Where: We’ll meet at the Palmer Train Depot in downtown Palmer.

About Sondra Shaginoff-Stuart: Sondra is from Nay’dina’a’na’ Kayax (Chickaloon Village) Ahtna Dene and Kooyooe Tiukadu, Pyramid Lake Paiute (Nevada) reservation. She is a mother of three and grandmother to her precious granddaughter. Currently, she is Assistant Professor of Alaska Native Studies at the University of Alaska, Anchorage.
Sondra runs and operates her own business, Nakenaege’ Dahwsel’deldiix-Our Language Came Back, and contracts with tribes on Native Language work. She is a Ph.D. candidate working on advancing the Ahtna Dene Language through cultural projects and healing language practice, from the University of Alaska, Fairbank. She currently serves on the Kenaitze Indian Tribe’s Education Committee.
Sondra believes in serving her people in the best way possible, thinking good for Indigenous people through this process of education and cultural practices.
Cost to attend: This event is free for the community to attend. Donations are greatly appreciated. If you would like to contribute to the Mat-Su Trails and Parks Foundation, the organization will accept both electronic and cash donations at each speaker event. Donations are tax-deductible.
