In 2001, “Aurora” Dora Redman moved from São Paulo, Brazil, to Alaska, where she quickly fell in love with the state and was inspired by its dark winters. Since then, Dora has dedicated her time to capturing the night sky and the Northern Lights. Photography wasn’t a new pursuit for Aurora Dora. Her journey began at the age of six when her mother gifted her a Rolleiflex camera. This early introduction ignited a passion that has evolved over the years, rooted in the timeless techniques and styles of the film camera era and single exposures.
In 2013, Dora opened the Aurora Dora Gallery in downtown Talkeetna, Alaska, where she showcases her images and shares her knowledge through photography workshops and as a keynote speaker for various group presentations.
Her work is showcased on her website, in various lodges across Alaska, and at her gallery, Aurora Dora Photography, in Talkeetna. Her images have been featured in numerous publications, including National Geographic, NASA, The Washington Post, and Alaska Magazine.
