Salmon Berry Travel & Tours

Why travel with Salmon Berry Tours? Our guides do a great job of sharing not only the history of Alaska, but point out areas of interest along the way as well as share personal stories of life in Alaska. We are all local Alaskan guides - we not only give great tours of Alaska but also create memorable independent and small group travel packages utilizing our small fleet of touring vehicles, the Alaska Railroad and our trusted travel partners in communities around Alaska. We love sharing Alaska with visitors in a thoughtful and unique way - our goal is that each guest will get to #FindYourAlaska! June 18 - September 30, we will be at the Independence Mine State Historical Park providing walking tours at the top of the hour from 10am - 3pm. Our behind-the-scenes walking tour will give guests insight into the life of a gold miner in Hatcher Pass and the Willow Creek Mining District. There will be three buildings open at the mine this summer - the Manager's House, Bunkhouse #2 (snack shop and gifts here too!) and the Assay Office. The gate hours to access the mine is 9am - 7pm with the last car up at 6pm. If arriving after 6pm or before 9am, guests can park in the lower lot and walk up the hill to the park to access the area trails. Please remember: if you pack it in, pack it out! If coming from Anchorage, guided tours with transportation are available at 1pm daily. Reservations Required.
