The Alaska State Fairgrounds is the place to be this weekend, as the Alaska Chicks Vintage Market takes place Friday through Sunday.

The Vintage Market is typically held in the spring, but this year due to Covid-19, was moved to a summer date. The market has grown in popularity to become a can't miss event for shoppers looking for unique goods, apparel, home decor and more.

Some of Alaska's trendiest small businesses, including upcyclers, artists, designers, apparel companies and vintage collectors attend the event every year. It's a great way to find unique items and support local artists and businesses, particularly at a time when they need the support the most.

In addition to the shopping, the Vintage Market has also become a foodie event. The Food Truck Fest is held in conjunction with the market, and this year more than 30 of the top food trucks from around Southcentral Alaska will be on the fairgrounds this weekend serving everything from barbecue to Thai food and everything in between. New in 2020 is the addition of a farmer's market, which will also have an assortment of peonies for sale.

The event kicks off Friday, July 24 from noon to 9 p.m. ($5 admission) and continues Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. ($5 admission). The market concludes on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (free admission). There is ample parking that is free at the fairgrounds as well. This year, you can also do an online purchase for $5 that is good for the entire weekend.
