The Alaska State Fairgrounds is the place to be this weekend, as the Alaska Chicks Vintage Market takes place Friday through Sunday.
The Vintage Market is held each spring and has grown in popularity to become a can't miss event for shoppers looking for unique goods, apparel, home decor and more.
Some of Alaska's trendiest small businesses, including upcyclers, artists, designers, apparel companies and vintage collectors attend the event every year. This year, there will be more than 100 vendors from around Alaska in the Hoskins Building and Raven Hall.
In addition to the shopping, the Vintage Market has also become a foodie event. The Food Truck Fest is held in conjunction with the market, and this year more than 20 of the top food trucks from around Southcentral Alaska will be on the fairgrounds this weekend serving everything from barbecue to Thai food and everything in between.
The event kicks off Friday, May 3 from 5-9 p.m. with a $5 admission. On Saturday, the event is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., again with a $5 mission. On Sunday, it runs 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free. There is ample parking that is free at the fairgrounds as well.
